Finnish merino wool collars by color family now available in the online store

I am a collar person and a lover of merino wool, but there are surprisingly few nice colors available. This has now changed, meaning that our online store offers Finnish merino wool collars in five lovely colors, and there is a delicious color for each color family:

  • Ocean Green - merino wool collar for the summer color family and soft autumn

Color consultant Brighter and domestic ocean green merino wool collar
The Ocean green headband is, above all, soft in color and very neutral in terms of temperature.
  • Petrol - for all autumns and winters, as well as for bright spring and cool summer (Petrol is actually suitable for everyone)

Petrol is a very neutral shade in terms of its characteristics, though its depth makes it particularly well-suited to people with dark features. As a "Bright Spring" myself, I wear this color most often.
  • Heather - for all summers and soft autumns

Heather is a very soft color with a neutral temperature.

  • Purple - for the winter color family, bright spring and cool summer

Before, it was not possible to buy merino wool collars classified according to color analysis, and now you can! The color of the collar is guaranteed to match your features when you choose a color that represents your own color family.

Features and benefits of merino wool collars

Hehkumpi merino wool collars are handmade in Finland from 100% mulesing-free merino wool knitted in Finland. Mulesing-free means that the sheep have been kept as happy as possible. The collars are sewn by a subcontractor from Kerava.

100% mulesing free merino wool
The Hehkumpi merino wool headband is made of 100% mulesing-free merino wool and sewn by hand in Kerava, Finland.

Merino wool is an excellent material because:

  • it feels wonderful

  • it insulates heat

  • it breathes well

  • and often just airing is enough for washing

The merino wool collar is suitable for year-round use, all kinds of activities and outdoor activities. According to color analysis, the colors chosen best emphasize the features of the wearer.

You can gently wash the headband in water below 30°C. Hand washing and drying flat are recommended. P.S. You look amazing!

The birth of Hehkumpi merino wool collars

I couldn't find a merino wool collar in the right color for me, so I ordered fabric and sewed my own collar from it.

Inspired by this, I wanted to start making merino wool collars for others, but sewing is not my biggest passion (doing color analysis and helping people is) and it is also a time-consuming task, so we were looking for a local seamstress from Kerava to sew the collars as a subcontractor.

I ordered the fabrics, logo tags and washcloths. I took the materials to our seamstress and in less than a week the first batch was ready and now the lovely Hehkumpi merino wool collars are available to everyone!

I decided to make two different sizes because I want our children's ears to stay warm too!

adult and child size merino wool collars
On the left are adult sizes, and on the right, children's sizes.

You can buy a collar even if you haven't had a color analysis.

Color analysis is not meant to take away colors from you, but to bring you more. If you like one of the colors of my merino wool collars and you don't know your color season, I still encourage you to get it!

Without a color analysis result, you can estimate what kind of undertones you have and choose a collar that matches them. You can also choose a collar that matches your eyes or hair color. Or if you have a nice ocean green jacket, definitely get a collar in the same color!

Petrol is suitable for all seasons!
Petrol suits basically everyone!
